About Compass and Light Counseling

I want to see you thrive!

Hey, I'm Megan Biegler, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate in North Carolina helping teens and adults let go of constantly performing and learn how to feel confidently loved and seen for who they truly are - not just what they do.

Reaching out for help takes a lot of courage. You have my utmost respect for advocating for the quality of life you deserve. No matter your fears, doubts, or struggles, I approach them with curiosity and a commitment to finding real solutions that fit your life.

Here, you will never be judged.

Having faced many of these challenges myself, I’m here to walk alongside you, meeting you wherever you are on your healing journey. Together we'll equip you with simple, practical skills you can use in every life stage.

Feel empowered sharing your own needs

Let's make sense of what's keeping you stuck.

In our work together, I’m not here to “fix” you — I’m here to partner with you. I listen carefully for the parts of your story you’ve had to silence, and I stay curious about what your emotions are actually trying to protect. Therapy becomes a collaborative process where we gently make sense of your patterns, your fears, and the pressure you’ve been living under for so long.

I’ll guide you at a pace that feels steady and safe, offering practical tools alongside deeper reflection so you can get the results you want.

If you want results and to have some fun along the way, let's chat.

For a long time, I spent most of my energy being everything for everyone else. I said yes when I was overwhelmed, silenced my own needs, and convinced myself that being “the strong one who never complained” was something to be proud of. This left me caring for everyone but myself for many years.

This worked….until you know…. it really didn’t! I was exhausted and sick of pretending I was “fine” all the time and
decided to truly invest in my own mental health. I’m so grateful I learned firsthand what I teach now because my empathy and compassion for your struggle is real.

I consider being a therapist a great privilege and truly love helping people who struggle with debilitating anxiety and self-doubt discover ways to manage stress, learn how to say ‘no’ and still feel okay, and rebuild their self-worth so they feel truly connected and valued as they are.

Healing is not an easy path, but it’s a powerful one worth pursuing. I would love to help guide and equip you on your journey towards emotional freedom and the peace you desire!

A few fun facts!

In my free time I enjoy running and training for ultramarathons! Years ago I couldn't run 3 miles and would often wonder why someone would ever run further, but now, if I'm out on the trail or climbing a mountain, I probably have a big smile on my face- and if I don't, it's possibly because I didn't pack enough snacks!

I am fluent in Spanish. I fell in love with the language at a young age and have never stopped studying it. I lived in Nicaragua for a few years working with teens in rural communities. Offering those families support is what sparked my desire to become a professional counselor - ¡Le doy gracias a mi familia nica por todo su apoyo y la sabiduría que me ha brindado!

Days spent with my husband, son, and two dogs camping, reading or playing a long, complicated board game are some of my favorites. If I were a better knitter, I'd make my own cardigans, but I'll stick to making hats and blankets for now!
